Deputy Commissioner Saif Anwar Japa said that preparations have been completed for the three-day special anti-polio campaign starting from October 26 in the district.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of the District Anti-Polio Committee, CEO Health Dr. Afzal Latif, DHO Dr. Ayaz Nasir, Deputy Director Population Welfare Hassan Akhtar, Chief Officers Mahmood Iqbal Gondal. , Azmat Farid, Musharraf Baig, DSP Traffic Muhammad Saeed, social activist Nadeem Sindhu, Khadim Ali Khadim, Munawar Khokhar, and other officers were also present. Deputy Commissioner Saif Anwar Japa said that the anti-polio campaign started from October 26, 2020, will continue till October 28, two-day follow-up campaign will be held on October 29 and 31, while October 30 is a holiday in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the number of anti-polio teams for vaccinating 441,779 children up to the age of five years in the district has been increased from 896 to 988 while the number of fixed teams has been increased from 121 to 122. 33 transit points will be set up while the number of staff involved in the anti-polio drive has been increased from 2164 to 2515 for which UCMOs and DDOHs are performing their duties while at the district level AD C Finance has been appointed as the focal person. He directed that all private schools should be informed about the anti-polio campaign in a timely manner. There is no option to refuse the vaccination of children against polio. Deputy Commissioner Saif Anwar Japa said that the police will implement a comprehensive plan for the security of anti-polio teams, traffic police and motorway police will also be bound to assist anti-polio teams, Education Department, Population Welfare Department, Health Department While the municipal committees will also provide assistance according to their scope. The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of all the departments to make the anti-polio campaign success through mutual coordination.
