Mandi Bahauddin: Deputy Commissioner Tariq Ali Basra and District Police Officer Syed Ali Raza have said that Islam is a religion of peace and security. Patience, tolerance, unity, and brotherhood, the scholars continue to play a key role in maintaining an atmosphere of peace and security by promoting harmony, love, brotherhood, and tolerance among the people. The country needs harmony, not chaos. He said that scholars, shaykhs, and Zakirs of all schools of thought should cooperate to maintain peace and order on the occasion of Eid-Milad un-Nabi.
He expressed these views while addressing a review meeting of the district peace and interfaith committee held here today in connection with the preparations for Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The meeting was attended by officers of relevant departments, eminent scholars, and leaders of Anjuman-e-Tajiran among others. Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Tariq Ali Basra said that Mandi Bahauddin district is the cradle of peace. The people here will maintain the peace of the city in collaboration with the district administration while maintaining the old tradition. Anti-social elements will be closely monitored and disturbing the peace of the district will not be allowed. The Deputy Commissioner directed the CEO Municipal Committee to clean the procession route, complete the patchwork of the roads, remove stones, bricks, sand, and gravel anywhere in the procession route and remove all kinds of obstructions.
He directed the WAPDA officials to remove the hanging power lines anywhere along the procession routes. He said that all resources would be utilized to ensure the protection of life and property of the people in all cases. He clarified that time, place, and route would not change and implementation of social distance and corona sops during the processions would be ensured.
DPO Syed Ali Raza said that the police would fulfill their security responsibilities in the processions and the suspects would be closely monitored. The DPO assured the scholars that in view of the current situation in the country, there is an urgent need for Inter-Muslim unity and religious harmony as the internal and external hostile elements of our country and nation want to spread chaos through their nefarious intentions and conspiracies. For which we have to promote religious harmony, brotherhood, fraternity, and peace so that the enemies of our country fail in their goals.
The meeting also heard suggestions from the Inter-Muslim alliance and scholars. After hearing the suggestions, the Deputy Commissioner and the DPO assured that the issues would be resolved. On the occasion, the scholars and representatives of Anjuman-e-Tajiran assured their full cooperation and pledged to continue positive activities through mutual coordination with the district administration to promote peace in the district.
