Mandi Bahauddin: On the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Phalia Sajid Munir Kaliar paid a surprise visit to the city’s vegetable and fruits market. He reviewed the bidding process in the vegetable and fruit market and supervised the auction of fruits and vegetables at the prices fixed by the government. He said that the auction process in the market was being monitored continuously and that was the reason why the prices of vegetables and fruits were being implemented at the rates fixed by the government and the fruits of which were reaching the people.
Meanwhile, on the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, the Assistant Commissioners are continuously monitoring the morning auctions in the fruit and vegetable markets of their respective areas, which is stabilizing the prices of fruits and vegetables. He clarified that the mission of the administration is to completely eradicate the hoarding and illicit profiteering mafia. He asked the middlemen and auction members to sell fruits and vegetables at the rates fixed by the government as per the purchasing power of the people and take care of the rights of the consumers.
He said that under the price Act, no one would be allowed to hoard and profiteering, and FIRs and arrests would be made against the violators. He said that the negative trend of an unjustified increase in prices would be strictly curtailed so that the middlemen should receive the prices fixed by the government. Otherwise, hoarders and profiteers will be punished for breaking the law.
