Mandi Bahauddin: A meeting of the District Development Committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Tariq Ali Basra in the DC office regarding the progress in development schemes. The meeting was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance Hafiz Ghulam Murtaza, SDO Building Qarar Shah, and officers of other concerned departments.
Earlier, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and officers of other concerned departments gave a detailed briefing to the meeting regarding the development schemes under the ADP Annual Development Program 2020-21. The meeting reviewed the progress of 54 ongoing development schemes under the Annual Development Program 2020-21 including 13 road sectors, 30 PHED, 2 higher education, 4 P&SHCARE, and 5 public building schemes. The meeting was informed that 56% of the work of these 54 development schemes worth Rs. 10299.841 million has been completed while the work of most of these schemes is nearing completion.
On which the Deputy Commissioner said that no compromise would be made on the quality, speed, and transparency of the work of development schemes. If there is any defect in any place, it should be rectified immediately. The work of the schemes for which funds are available should not be hampered in any way but should be completed expeditiously. He said that the ongoing development schemes should be inspected till their completion.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Government of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar was providing all possible resources for the completion of development schemes and in this regard, funds have already been allocated for the upgradation, construction, and rehabilitation of these development schemes. He urged the officers to complete all the development schemes as soon as possible in the interest of the people so that these development schemes could be facilitated by the people as per the aspirations of the people and the people could take full advantage of them.
