Mandi Bahauddin: Deputy Commissioner Tariq Ali Basra has said that action should be taken against the violators of corona SOPs under the Pandemic Control Act. Corona SOPs and social distance should be strictly enforced at weddings and other celebrations. He said that without the cooperation of the people, control of the coronavirus is impossible. 

 

He expressed these views while presiding over a review meeting on the implementation of covid-19 sops at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. The meeting was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Tauqeer Ilyas Cheema, Assistant Commissioner Mandi Bahauddin Malik Kashif Nawaz, Assistant Commissioner Phalia Sajid Munir Kaliar, Deputy District Health Officer Shakeel Iqbal Butt, DO Industries Rana Gulfam Haider, and officers of other concerned departments. 

 

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Tariq Ali Basra said that in view of the second wave of coronavirus in the country, it has become necessary to strictly implement corona SOPs across the district to prevent corona. He said that the public should also take precautionary measures against the coronavirus. 

 

The Deputy Commissioner issued clear instructions to the Assistant Commissioners and other officers to hold meetings with wedding halls, marquees, and shopping malls and management and owners to not only be clearly informed about corona SOPs but also be inform them about it. Make sure they hold weddings and other events in open spaces and ensure strict adherence to corona SOPs during the celebrations. Inform them about the coronavirus and tell them that a little carelessness can lead to a coronavirus attack. 

 

He said wedding organizers should be required to wear face masks as well as maintain social distance to prevent corona. He issued clear instructions to the officers and said that continuous monitoring and inspection of marriage halls and shopping malls and other public gathering places should be continued. Marriage halls and shopping malls violating the corona SOPs Pandemic Control Act should not only be sealed but also heavy fines and lawsuits should be registered.
